TECHNOLOGY Responsible for global security platform level planning and strategy, budgetary planning, resource management and project delivery and innovation. Provided technical leadership and support for the pursuit of new and existing business Works closely with regional and global product marketing leaders for idea conceptualization and to drive regional and global market growth. Identification of process improvement needs and deployment of accepted best engineering practices The portfolio of products to be managed varies from Enterprise applications with Cloud hosted solutions (SaaS) to embedded security & lifestyle products Provides periodic inputs to upper management on business trends, growth opportunities, performance metrics etc. Responsible for thought leadership and technology leadership. Co-owns the product strategy and roadmap with other functions. Creating and maintaining technology roadmaps Works in inserting key evolving Technologies into key product lines and ensure the product differentiation is maintained. Management by Metrics Establish systems for Collection and analysis of metrics (using HOS, CMMi, Six-Sigma), establish performance capability baselines and devise improvement actions and track those.STRATEGIC IMPACT Contributes to SBE technology strategy development. Actively pursues knowledge of competitive technology options and evaluates potential. Uses market and customer knowledge for growth direction. Leverages networks to improve productivity. Responsible for exerting leadership in the GBE and influences the team to develop and maintain process maturity that ensure highest value to the SBU partners and Honeywell customers. Responsible for mapping the HTS strategies into GBE goals and communicating these strategies effectively across teams in the GBE. Sustains the innovation culture in the GBE and channelizes the ideas into business STRAP/objectives. Drive Cost & Productivity Initiatives in the GBE and provides the cost advantage to the partners. Nurture and Develop Core Capabilities aligned with SBU priorities. Implements strategic decisions that impact operational excellence/delivery excellence and people excellence Define a strategic Engineering roadmap for product definition, architecture, and team composition. Partner with business operations, product management, and other engineering teams to improve business performance and to support new initiatives.PEOPLE MANAGEMENT Lead a team of 120+engineers including functions across 2 locations (Bangalore and Madurai) Workforce development including goal setting, hiring\firing, mentoring\coaching, performance reviews and training of direct reports Plan and execute actions for people development and career planning flowing from MRR Effectively manages and influences the team and the culture in the GBE through effective hiring strategies, rewarding and talent differentiation for high performance. Sets recruiting strategies aligned with business objectives and Recruit the best talent of Engineers and Manager to foster rapid innovation. Plans, builds, trains & sustains human resources for seamless execution of projects. Involves collaboration with leaders & stakeholders in HTS to make available all resources. Develops people and competencies that are required for future growth with specific emphasis on building top talent for key leadership positions and tracks succession depth for all key positions. Exerts leadership & influence in developing and maintaining Organizational values, systems & culture, process maturity that ensure highest value to the SBU partners & HON customersCOMMUNICATION Builds relationships and collaborates with business partners and stakeholders in the GBE with multi-level partner engagement (EPL, Engineering Director, Product marketing, Strategic Marketing, Sales, Sales Support). Develops network to be tuned into customers opinion and working relationship with HTSL. Participates in Industry forums in related business areas Demonstrates effective negotiation skills that result in win-win situations. Communicates linkages of program results to organizational strategies and values. Drive long term vision while keeping in mind the short term execution when doing certain tasks as in platforms development, development process, product differentiation, team composition & hiring, technology experimentation and communicate it to the team below. Will play key role in translating top management vision on some of the above areas on the ground
