Staff Engineer/Technologist 4 - GE90 CTP (Customer Technical Programs) will provide technical support & amp leadership over a cross-functional team to maintain fleet reliability, safety and on-time customer responsiveness. In this role, you will work closely with regional airline customers and manage the field issues and develop solutions that meet business needs within functional area(s) of expertise.Essential ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will report to GE90 Fleet Sub-Section Manager, Services Engineering at JFWTC, GEA India, Bangalore. In addition, you will interface with organizations such as the Engineering Departments, Commercial Engines Engineering (CEE), Digital Services Solutions (DSS), Customer Service Engineering (CSE), CSA Operations, Aviation Operations Center (AOC) and Customer & Product Support Organization (C&PSO) based on business need. Work closely with regional customers and lead customer specific/fleet level programs (water wash effectiveness, T/O derate, etc) Serve as main technical interface between the customer and General Electric with great visibility inside and outside the Company Know that customers include both those internal to GE as well as operators and maintenance providers outside GE Drive resolution to top in-service issues and on-time customer responsiveness Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks complying with engineering and agency policies and procedures Lead business initiatives for field issues and cost of ownership goals Provide support for development of GE90 Time On Wing (TOW) objectives 24/7 availability on need basis to resolve field issues Identify need for technical and program reviews within the organization. Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments as appropriate. Drive change by demonstrating clear thinking, articulate roles & responsibilities, manage hand-offs between different organizations. Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures. Formulate and implement plans to achieve technical and program requirements, schedules and customer commitments. Foster and inspire a collaborative work style and display team-oriented behavior with a proactive example of communication internally and externallyQualifications/Requirements1. Bachelor s Degree in Engineering2. Minimum of 8 years of experience in Aviation Engines or Turbo machinery Engineering position3. In-depth understanding of engineering technology and Strong engineering problem solving capabilities4. Strong project management skills including cross-functional coordination of activities5. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization both internally and externally6. Ability and willingness to travel as requiredDesired Characteristics1. Masters s Degree/Ph.D in Engineering2. Ability to effectively interact with the customer3. Experience with TOPS8D, engine field problem resolution4. Ability to effectively manage multiple project responsibilities5. Familiarity with aircraft flight operations and mission analysis6. Strong organization and planning skills7 Strong oral and written communication skills8. Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills9. Previous experience in a product or customer support role or hardware design or services contract experience
Degree: Ph.D. (Doctorate)
