Job Details

The Service Delivery Engineer (SDE) is an expert member of the engineering team and is highly skilled in the domain technology, product and underlying stack. SDE is responsible for solving extremely complex, critical customer issues. The SDE acts in the role of a Subject Matter Expert and is sought by customers and Oracle employees to provide expert technical advice. The SDE is highly customer centric, demonstrates proactive approach and drives initiatives to delight customer and contribute to organizations growth. The SDE is result-oriented and performs the assigned duties with a high level of autonomy and commitment and provides period updates to management. Job ResponsibilitiesInvestigate and resolve highly complex and critical issues requiring expert technical knowledgeAct as a consultant for customers to provide technical and functional expertise, know-how and guidance throughout various life cycle stages (design, deployment, migration, implementation, upgrade, patching, go-live, etc)Lead triage activities along with customer and internal stakeholders (engineering, product support, product management)Root Cause Analysis and presentationEstablish resolution action plan (patch application, configuration changes, work-around) and assist customer in test and implementationWork with the customer and internal stakeholders to establish, track and execute service delivery plansEscalation Management Interface with customer and internal stakeholder to manage escalations and lead resolutionResearch product technical, functional and domain technology related areas and conduct knowledge transfer sessions for internal stakeholders and customersManage SR queues and work with team members to jointly resolve issuesPerform assessments (functional, business process, technical, configuration, performance)Contribute to after-hours support in a combination of shifts, on-call. (There are no regular night shifts).Execute or provide stand-by assistance for maintenance window interventions. Qualification Engineering or Science graduate (B.E., M.E., MCA) or equivalent with strong academic credentialsCandidate should have minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience on relevant products / technologies in following roles deployment, support, integration, testingGeneric Requirement Candidate should be self-motivated, flexible and energetic and willing to work in a dynamic environmentCandidate should be willing to work in a support/consultant roleCandidate should be willing to work after-hours through combination of shifts, on-callCandidate should be willing to travel for short-term projects, meetings, workshops (25% maximum)Candidate should have strong communication and inter-personal skills and should be a team player.Candidate should have customer handling / management experience.Flexibility and ability to learn new tools and technology rapidly.Skills Requirement (PCRF)Demonstrated experience and knowledge on Oracle PCRF/SDM or any other PCRF/SDM and SGSN, GGSN, HSS, MME, Vo products.Good Knowledge and Understanding of PS network domains IMS, VoLTE, GPRS, EPC architecture and interfaces (Gx, Gy, Sy, Ro, Rf, Gxx, Sh, Sd, S9, S6a etc).Demonstrated experience in telecom protocols (Diameter, Diameter Credit Control, SIP, CAP, MAP,SMPP,SIGTRAN, SNMP and SMPP)Excellent knowledge of Call Flows (Data Sessions, Voice, SMS, VAS, VoLTE)Strong experience in tracing (Wireshark) and testing tools (MGTS, Seagull, SIPP)Platform knowledge (SUN/HP/IBM), Knowledge of Unix (Unix variants - Solaris, Linux, etc)Hands on experience with Perl, Shell and Python scripting language.Demonstrated ability to coordinate the resolution of escalated issues.Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a proven track record in troubleshooting issues on telecom products and protocols.A good understanding of support processes.Ability to manage escalated technical situations, customer management activities. Skills Requirement (DSR) Hand on experience on Oracle Communications Diameter Signaling Router (DSR/DRA) is preferable. Any other vendor similar product experience is also good.Good knowledge and working experience on the GSM, EPC/IMS network domain.Good knowledge and working experience on various EPC/IMS network interface like Gx, Gy, Rx, S6, S13 etc.Good Knowledge and experience on the Diameter, SS7, Sigtran, SIP.Sound knowledge of telecom network call flows.Strong experience in tracing (Wireshark) and testing tools (MGTS, Tektronics, Seagull, etc)Hardware Platform knowledge (SUN/HP), Knowledge of Linux (variants - Solaris, Linux, etc.)Excellent Communication and customer facing skills or such past experience is desirableA good understanding of support processesAbility to manage escalated technical situations, customer management activities Skills Requirement (SBC) Demonstrated experience and knowledge of telecom domain, protocols and signaling architecture.Must be familiar with LAN/WAN data networking architectures and routing protocolsKnowledge and Understanding of VOIP/IMS, SIP trunking architectureSecurity (TLS, SRTP or IPSEC)Excellent knowledge of SIP / IMS call flows (3WC, Voice Call, Media Server, Video Call, etc)Strong experience in tracing (Wireshark) and testing tools (MGTS, Spirent, Seagull, SIPP)Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. shell, Perl), parsing toolsStrong analytical and troubleshooting skillsDemonstrated ability to coordinate the resolution of escalated issuesExcellent Communication and customer facing skills Skills Requirement (Tekelec EAGLE STP)Proven hands-on experience on Tekelec EAGLE STP and relevant products / applications e.g., G-PORT, G-flex, MNP, EPAP, E5MSHands-on experience and demonstrated knowledge on SS7 network architecture, concepts, protocols (SS7, TCAP, CAP, MAP, etc), interoperability and troubleshootingStrong knowledge on SIGTRAN stack (SCTP,M2PA,M3UA)Knowledge and experience on MNP (ATI,INP, AINPQ, IDPR, IAR) Networks and RoutingExperience on Global Title Translation and Gateway ScreeningExperience with test equipments (protocol analyzers, break-out-box, logic analyzers, Wireshark, Etherial and troubleshooting.Knowledge on VOIP, SIP and IMS is an added advantage.
