Key Roles and ResponsibilitiesLine management of a development team coveringScheduling workloadsSetting targetsMonitoring performanceMentoring team and skills transferConducting appraisalsReporting of development progress back to Development Manager and stakeholders alerting them of any issues.Promote the use of department-wide programming conventions and standards by regular code reviews or other means.Ensure the writing of technical documentation for production or other environments, detailing workflows, structure of sites, installation instructions etc.Actively contribute to the development of Euromonitors IT solutions to improve functionality, user-friendliness and presentation of our products.Conduct independent research making recommendations on technical direction.Ensure developer s code has the highest level of quality and code coverage.Assist Developers, Managers and Architects in any teams with design and development.Liaise with Business Analysts, Product Managers and/or internal/external customers to ensure that requirements are understood.Ensure completion of the teams work to agreed timelines.Works with little supervision from Development or Product Manager.Timely and accurate reporting of project status as required by Development or Product Manager.Ensure the team follows TDD practices as part of the software engineer practice.Participate in peer code reviews.Train team members on agile development practices, use of appropriate design patterns and SOLID principles in their day-to-day work.Have periodical discussion with Product Manager, Support Manager and other Stakeholders to understand any difficulties/issues Euromonitor provided products/services are causing and suggest the best solution(s) by application of technology.In a normal day to day job, you are expected to spend 60% of time in technical activities (like coding, review, helping/guiding juniors in their technical difficulties, architectural improvementsetc.) and rest 40% time in team management activities (like Agile-SCRUM activities, resource management, their appraisal or mentoring and grooming or training them, improving their skills, ensuring the best practices, brining innovation to the team and product etc.)Required SkillsIT/software skillsThe following experience / skills are highly desirable5+ years of hands on development experience using the .NET technology stack predominantly using ASP.NET and / or ASP.NET MVC in recent project(s).Experience using SCRUM agile methodology and playing the role of ScrumMaster. A ScrumMaster certification very advantageous.Strong C# language skills, ASP.NET 3.5+, ASP.NET MVC 4+,XAML, HTML, JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery, Telerik Controls, AngularJS/KnockoutJS, XML, Unit Testing (NUnit/MSTest or equivalent), Entity Framework 4+.Should be willing to work on any Euromonitor products (both Web and Desktop).OOP programming (theoretical and practical experience of OO design principles and patterns)Familiarity with Visual Studio programming environments and Team Foundation server (TFS).Understanding of WCF Services, WEB API, IIS configuration and webserver performance monitoring a plus.Actively learning and regularly upgrading self-knowledge on the Euromonitor products and technical subjects.Required ExperienceKnowledge/Experience of the following is advantageousPrior experience in leading a development team.WPF, XAML, MVVM ,PRISM/Caliburn.Micro, RSS, CSS, Entity Framework 4+, AngularJS/KnockoutJS, XSLT, XPath.Agile methodologies, Test Driven Development (TDD), Behaviour Driven Design (BDD), Domain Driven Design (DDD).Web Accessibility Initiative guidelines.Search engine optimisation.Performance tuning and troubleshooting IIS and ASP.Net applications in production.TSQL statements, stored procedures and functions in SQL Server 2008.Knowledge on use of new and advanced technical concepts of latest .Net Frameworks.eCommerce web application with a shopping cart process. Other skillsAbility to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.Willingness or attitude to work on any technologies or any EMI Products.Ability to accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision.Excellent oral and written communication skills and onshore/offshore co-ordination.Good administrative, logic, team player and organisational skills.Solid knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodology.Self-motivation and drive to take on personal responsibility.Attention to detail and ability to find solutions to multifaceted programming problems.Good analysis and data collection skills.Knowledge of technology involved web servers, app servers, DB servers etc.Sound knowledge of MS Windows Server Operating Systems, Web servers and SQL Server
