This Role is responsible for designing and delivering solutions to meet the W&G requirements in the core RXD platform. This role will also have responsibility for the technical analysis, design and delivery of technology solutions or projects, which will include providing technical guidance / capability development for the platform. Technically leading the complex Core platform implementations and providing required technical steer to projects / Programs. Working with senior technical community in India and UK to deliver standards, guidelines, reusable frameworks, engagement model & tools pertaining to core projects Driving Accounting platform centric technical forums & sessions with project managers, leads & architects across teams. The role involves lots of liaison with Business Users, Business Analyst and Requirements Analyst who will be responsible for definition and documentation of detailed Functional and Non-Functional requirements and to provide significant input to the Process Design. Activities What does the jobholder have to do? Define architectural Road Maps for the Core RXD platform Define Core Estimation models and provide Expertise on Estimation methodology within this platforms and outside core Lead Assessments for requests involving Core RXD platform Own & Evolve all Platform Documentation Outline/Propose Design, Test and Implementation Strategies. Resolve Project conflicts/contentions around architectural/functional issues Manage Test Environment Usage, Retention and Destruction within the Platform Own & Evolve all Platform Documentation and contribute to platform capability enhancement Optimize Platform Estimation Models and Metrics based on actual Project Statistics of the various Cost Elements Perform/own Design Assurance for Projects Ensure Design principles and platform architecture are adhered to Mentor Leads & developer by guiding & helping in the resolution of technical issues. Own the architecture & design deliverables as required by the project. Building organizational standards and guidelines for Core RXD implementations Liaise with infrastructure and environments team as required to define & set up a project environment. Ability to lead complex projects for the platform from technical stand pointKey deliverables What are the key outcomes and what does the jobholder have to produce (objectives)? This role should come up with design options and recommend the best option in line with Application design & Architecture and industry best practises. Travel maybe needed to other RBS locations in India. Act as a lead architect / design lead for large Cross-Core ProgrammesPeople Management What are the key responsibilities of the job/ role? There will not be any people management responsibility. However he/she is expected to provide inputs for performance appraisal of technical resources on the project Ability to lead and mentor Tier 3 / T2 SMEs and other Technical resources in enhancing capabilityFinancial Management What are the key responsibilities of the job/ role?NoneThe RequirementsPerson SpecificationEssential Experience What previous experience is required to do this job/role?Essential 11+ year s development experience in mainframe applications out of which a minimum of 3 years should be as a technical lead. At least 5+ Years of experience in architecting and designing large and complex Process driven Integration solutions using mainframe and CICS web services Experience of working on client facing roles (preferably onsite in US or Europe) on large mainframe implementation projects Experience on applications and database optimizations. Able to work in a multi-cultural, international environment Extremely hands on with technology Hands on experience of working in Assembler, CICS, Cobol, JCL, DB2, MQ & VSAM Expertise on designing, developing & deploying complex solutions. Leading complex technical projects single handed-ly from start to end. Strong understanding on software quality processes Good understanding of at least two Core banking platforms within RBS, over all understanding of core banking platforms and its interfaces Good understanding of the W&G programme.Desirable Exposure to Core platforms atleast for 3-4 yrs. Non mainframe technology exposureQualifications What training or qualifications are required to do the job/role?Essential A in engineering or computer science (B.E / B Tech / MCA)Desirable Technical architecture certifications like SOACP or TOGAFTechnical Competence What are the specific skills/ style and abilities required of the job/ role?Essential Strong experience in architecture/design/development of Mainframe applications Strong development experience in all mainframe technologies Hands on experience of implementing long running processes and human services Hands on experience in Build & production deployments. Experience in environment monitoring & process optimizations. Experience of using tools Strong development experience in Web Services and SOA Excellent communication skills (must have) with ability to manage technical stakeholders at various levels Desirable Experience of performance tuning Experience of designing test strategy and environment management.
