The Technical Writer researches, writes, and reviews a variety of technical and non-technical documents for internal and external use.The Technical Writer assumes responsibility for the creation of public, liability-relevant statements about the product and ensures that the technical documentation is complete and accurate. The Technical Writer operates in close collaboration with the development, quality assurance, and customer services departments.The Technical Writer analyzes and evaluates complex software design documents, bug reports, and source code files. From these input sources, the Technical Writer extracts the information relevant for the target group and translates the complex facts into an easy to understand and clear, and comprise presentation, including texts, tables, diagrams, and graphical elements.Analysis, research, and testing* Work closely with the product development team, the quality assurance team, and the customer service team;* Learn and understand complex technical concepts and procedures;* Gather information from different sources;* Analyze, understand, and check the software design documents;* Analyze, understand, and compare the source code files;* Use software prototypes to verify procedures;* Derive and develop basic testing procedures and applications to verify procedures;* Work with several software applications, including development environments;Writing, editorial, and review* Coordinate with other Technical Writers and Information Architects;* Work in a collaborative, web-based knowledge management environment to create modular, version-based documentation;* Plan, organize, and write customer documentation for software solutions;* Write and edit customer documentation in a clear and concise style;* Create and edit graphical elements, including illustrations and screenshots;* Meet all the requirements specified in the style, writing, and coding guidelines and templates;* Perform reviews of documents and verify the completeness and correctness of the structure and content;* Perform all required post-processing actions;* Perform revisions, update, and maintenance of existing contents; * Plan, organize, and write data sheets, training materials, and support notes;Maintenance, administration, and knowledge transfer* Examine existent documents and flag outdated contents for revision;* Identify and prepare documentation tasks under consideration of the applicable workflow processes;* Create and maintain style, writing, and coding guidelines and templates;* Verify the compliance of the major development tasks with the applicable workflow processes when the tasks reach the documentation stage.* Coordinate with other internal organizations;* Assist others with writing and structuring documents for their customer projects and solutions;* Report to the team leaderRequirements* Bachelors degree in Technical Communications or related degree;* 2 or more years of experience in technical writing.* Excellent written skills in English;* Familiarity with topic-based authoring and structured content, Wiki-based technology;* Experience with evaluating software design documents;* Experience with mobile app design and cloud technologies is desirable;* Works independently with limited guidance and manages own workload;* Resolves complex issues and deals with several problems at the same time;* Focuses on high quality, accuracy, and consistency;* Enjoys facing challenging tasks in a flexible and dynamic working environment
