Participates in key initiatives and projects advising and directing the design and implementation teams activities, work flow, and priorities. This is in addition and in support of the responsible line manager.Must display good judgment at all times, helping to drive adherence and use of standards, product sets, templates, systems and artifacts are important to the success of the firm.Can be a point of escalation; solves problems and is at times called upon to facilitate key decisions across the stakeholders.Areas of knowledge include Voice and Voice over IP (VoIP) Implementation. Baseline knowledge in related technology areas such as Voice Mail, Voice Recording, Contact Center, IP Network, Network Appliance, Video and Transport technologies (Switched Voice, IP, SIP, etc.) is valued.The person in this role needs to know how to collaborate and influence. This position will interface directly with internal and external customers; network architecture, implementation, product management, operations teams, vendors, consultants and contractors. Strong written, verbal and presentation skills are a must.The Core Voice Implementation Engineer is a thought-leader and must be able to represent the strategic vision and goals of the organization to various stakeholders and shareholders.Key ResponsibilitiesCross functional technical/SME resource to drive value in design and deployment initiativesActs a problem solver/troubleshooter to drive initiatives towards completionCandidate must understand how designs turn into implementation; implementations that are based upon standards and predefined strategies.Works with Strategy and Planning and Product Engineering in a "knowledge transfer" role in support of the serviceDeliver team s adoption of technology, system or process changesAccountable for reviewing and enforcing design standards and the design authority processesPlays a key role in managing design governance through design reviews for specific projects. The objectives of the design review are o Consistent global delivery of architecture, design, and engineeringo Review technical impact of proposed projectso Ensure designs meet business requirements and are effective and efficiento Assess/review project design and ensure compliance to standardso Identify opportunities for cross functional synergiesDistribute design review responsibility with global oversight.Be a stakeholder in terms of artifacts, project documents and templatesSupports the project delivery lifecycle management through the concept of a Detailed Design, Test and Accept, Certification methodologies, Back-Out and Validation plans and procedures.Drive policy formation such as asset tracking, inventories, chargeback, documentation and the related systems, tools and processes)The SolutionThe Implementation Engineer stands between the project manager, design and implementation engineer and operations.They support initiatives as they transition between design, implementation and operations.They are active in all phases as an SME to support, solve program and facilitates decision making. The goal is to help the orderly and time execution of projects and initiatives in an optimal, strategic and timely way.The role sometimes performs Q/A function for selected projects comparing a design, how it is based upon standards and how it matches to the commission (installation, turn-up).The term Solution refers to the collaboration element of the role. This role aligns with not only cross tower initiatives in Global Core Voice and Structure Cable Engineering but also across Global Network Services (GNS), Global Technology Infrastructure (GTI), our partners and the LOBs. The position operates from being empowered, to be able to influence and negotiate in positive ways.Key skillset requirementsRequires fundamental knowledge of networking (i.e. routers and switches) and a good understanding of Voice and VoIP products/service is required (i.e. various types of IP based voice products Cisco CUCM, AVAYA Communications Manager, as well as legacy voice PBX vendors/products)Related knowledge in Voice Transport (IP and TDM), SBC, Session Management, Recording, Voice Security and CNR/BCPCritical Experiences/Education RequiredBachelors degree in engineering, computer science, MIS, relate d field and or technical training. Must have strong analytical skills. Master s degree is a plusMinimum of 7 years experience required in Network/Voice and Voice-related disciplines in design and implementation services.Strong background in IT service delivery role (i.e. engineering support for projects).Has participated in design and implementation of major IT projects.Experience in process re-engineering efforts, process, and maturity quality management best practices (ITIL, Six Sigma,MOF/MSF, etc.) is a plusProficiency in Python, PERL, Shell Scripting and macrosStrong Experience in Deploying and Operating Linux, UNIX and/or Windows at the SA level with a strong bias towards automated deployment and operations experiences
Degree: MCA/ PGDCA | ME/ M.Tech./ MS (Engg/ Sciences)

Additional Degree: BE/ B.Tech (Engineering) | BCA (Computer Application)
