About the PositionResponsible for assisting SVP (Product) in planning and leading the development of new software products and product enhancements. Oversees activities in the following areas applications, network/systems, database, and Web development. Articulates short and long-term strategy and drives strategies of teams. Tracks and reports on business unit goals and accomplishments within the department, across the company and represents the company externally. Assures department is equipped for changing environmentExpert with body of knowledge in SDLC and SaaS/Cloud based product development and support and can apply throughout the organization with understanding the business.Is a business leader; critically evaluates areas outside own area of expertise. Has a firm understanding of the external environment and business impact. Focuses on market positioning through long-range strategic planning.Responsibilities Determines resource allocation and needs and how they may change with changing business requirements; Overarching responsibility for assuring that teams are prepared for all current and future business needsDefines and oversees goals for applications, network/systems, database, and Web development; Influences future departmental/team goalsResponsible for assisting SVP (Product) with overall budget planning for R&D group in India and follow through in accordance with strategy. Monitors departmental budgets to ensure global organization budget remains in line. Plans, rationalizes and defends budget decisions for the future.Responsible for all levels of communication within department up to SVPsOversees applications, network/systems, database, and Web developmentEnsure the offshore delivery team is well aligned to department and organizational goals.Work with SVPs and managers in Product group to understand and influence product strategy.Represent India R&D group (Engineering, Business Analysis, Project Management, and Quality Assurance) to SVPs in India as well as to stakeholders in NY.Work with SVPs and department heads to manage the product development costBuild and mentor high performing offshore delivery teams across Development, Business Analysis, Quality, Project management functionsEstablish product development processes, best practices, and policiesStrategic prioritization of products, features and resources with colleaguesInfluence design and development strategies and processesExpose and teach traditional and emerging product concepts and philosophies in a cross-platform environmentMentor product and engineering teams to develop innovative solutions within constraints on cost, quality and performanceEnsure 24X7 production support is being done effectivelyManage the performance review, and compensation review of India R&D group.Develop a performance oriented cultureFuel a passion within the team for designing and building innovative high quality product with in the committed timelinesCreate a well-balanced and consistent organizational structure in India delivery centerEvangelize a product development culture within the organizationServe as key matrix partner to Engineering and Product Management department heads and ensure successful management and leveraging of the matrix environment to meet objectives.Communicate effectively, building consensus across various international development centersQualificationsKnowledge Distinct body of knowledge in SDLC and SaaS/Cloud based product development and support gained through experience;Demonstrated experience leading inspirationally with a commitment to common goals and visionDemonstrated ability to negotiate up, down and with peers to find common ground, and obtain buy-in for strategies and tacticsHands on software product development experience a mustDemonstrated ability to develop and motivate top talentExperienceExperience in anticipating and leading change through the organization, equipping staff to adapt quicklyDemonstrated experience working with broad cross-functional teams with ability to sell ideas and plans to internal constituencies, executives, customers, analysts, and partnersProven track record in effectively leading and managing teams to produce on-time, high-quality software with a high level of customer satisfactionPreviously demonstrated exceptional performance in a product development senior leadership role with a minimum of 15 years experience. Capital market and trading domain experienceExtensive management experience leading a cross functional group across locationsSubstantial experience in the management of software product delivery in a matrix environmentBusiness leadership experience;Leadership skills to influence others in a matrix organization and infuse them with a passion for the proposed products and services.Decision-makingProject implementationUnderstanding of the external environmentEducation/CertificationMaster's degree in business, finance, or a related field is mandatory.Additional Requirements Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.Excellent oral and written communication skills and group presentation skills. Comfortable presenting, both externally and internally.Ability to effectively maintain/build relationship across business groups and locations.
